Basement Cinema Room
Patricia Cox Design was appointed to transform a redundant storage basement area into a welcoming, modern cinema room respectful to its original architecture.
All necessary local council licences were obtained, the walls were sand-blasted to remove layers of old magnolia paint, a false low tiled ceiling was removed to add height, custom made beams were installed to enhance a traditional industrial atmosphere and the entire light system was re-designed. Modern radiators were replaced with a heritage style polished to a specific finish, hardwood doors were commissioned to a specific design with complementary wood carved features above. Wood flooring was installed to stairwell and floor space with co-ordinating skirting boards all of which was stained and polished to match the existing stair handrail.
